My work with Telematic Sonic Performances (2012 - present) has explored the ‘in-between’ sonic space that exists within the context of migration, through Deep Listening practice and improvisatory performances on the Internet, in order to expand the perceived sonic spaces that inform the migratory experience. I have consolidated this work through INTIMAL exploring alternative forms of embodied sense of place and sense of presence (tele-presence) in contexts of geographic dislocation. Thanks to The Studio Recovery Fund I created the INTIMAL App, which has been tested in Bath, 2021, and in the Earth Day Telematic Festival, 2022. 

 

In the performance VERTICES, in 2020, each improviser explores and creates her/his own interface to communicate with others in dream like narratives, expanding it through the virtual platform.

I have received funding from CRiSAP, University of the Arts London, LCC, and from the Marie Sklodowska Curie Individual Fellowship, with the project INTIMAL. I was commissioned by UNESCO Mexico for SUELO FERTIL. VERTICES was commissioned by MIDBO Bogotá, Sueños Distantes. I have collaborated widely with improvisers, collectives and venues in Mexico City, London, Leicester, Bogotá, Medellín, Barcelona, Oslo, Bangalore, Cambridge, São Paulo, and Troy.
